“Leela is a remarkable achievement…” – Zimbio, 8.75 out of 10.

Matthew Teague Miller at Zimbio gives our Deepak Chopra’s Leela a stunning review. In his own words: “While Leela certainly has moments that feel like a traditional video game, I would call it a wellness tool, more than a game… But writing as someone who plays FPS’s, RPG’s and is a practiced yogi and meditator, I have to say this game hit my sweet spot and I found myself hooting with joy from time to time as I moved through different stages. I found the interactive quality of this game very affecting, and truly felt elevated, spiritually and physically, after playing through a few chakras.” In the end, he calls Leela a “remarkable achievement” that “sets the stage for some truly incredible possibilities for the Kinect system…” He gives it an 8.75 out of 10. Associated Press’ Ron Harris released a story featuring Kinect-friendly titles. We are extremely proud that Leela was the only non-Microsoft studio developed game in the review. He gave Leela 4 out of 4 stars and a glowing review. He says that Leela is the most soothing game that he’s ever played. He also says, “I found this game both physically and mentally rewarding. We've been quietly working along with THQ and Curious Pictures on a new Kinect title that pushes the envelope on traditional gaming. Leela is a game that encourages the growth and development of the player on a spiritual level. It features mind bending visuals and full body interactivity thanks to the revolutionary Kinect sensor. The game is designed around the tantric yoga concept of the seven chakras (energy centers) positioned throughout the player's body. Gameplay focuses on developing these centers using location specific motions, sound effects and music as well as guided meditations voiced by Deepak Chopra himself. http://www.insidekinect.com/2011/07/deepak-chopra-project-officially-titled.html

Hurricane Irene

Just a day after the storm passed over everyone managed to make it in to work today. Which is saying something considering that the roads are still cluttered with debris and numerous traffic lights are out. I think everyone is thankful that the storm wasn't as serious as it could have been. A group of us sought higher ground in our second floor office space. We managed to avoid the flood waters and kept each other company during some minor blackouts. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. Stay safe NJ and avoid fallen power lines!

Great news, we moved into a new office! We took some time to organize and decorate a new space for the company and I think it’s safe to say that everyone is really pleased with the new digs. We painted the walls to match our new logo and everyone was encouraged to customize their space for maximum creative awesomeness. We have a dedicated testing room for full body Kinect gaming and a much nicer conference room with a view.
